If you're looking for one of the best pizzas in town, a cold drink and a pleasant atmosphere look 3 blocks North of Deaconess Hospital on the corner of Edgar and Louisiana St. in Evansville, Indiana. There you will find a community landmark rejuvenated, with doors open to serve up some fine food and dining by RJ and his crew. For one of the best salads around try one of the variety of cool, crip salads with your choice of toppings and dressings. A Talk of the Town original, RJ's own Red Beans and Rice spices up the menu along with appetizers including Flat Bead, Stromboni nachos, and Cheesy Bread. And who could have hot steaming pizza without and ice cold beer poured from a antique brass beer tapper? You can choose from an array of domestic and imported draft beer from Blue Moon Ale to Coors Light poured into an ice cold Fish Bowl. Don't like beer? That's okay Talk of the Town has wine, and fountain drinks too.

The building, located at 1200 Edgar St. has a long history of food and beverage service to the locals and travelers alike. While operating as Talk of the Town Tavern, exterior footage of the building with the second-story balcony lightshining brightly was used to portray Lobos, the bar frequented by Dan and Roseanne in the sit-com "Roseanne!" Talk of the Town Pizza Bar offers unique dining experience, with eye capturing decor, and some good ol' Blues piped in through the in-house stereo adding to the ambiance of the Diner style restaurant. Large checkerboard tiles are not only spread out on the floor, but the ceiling. You can grab a seat in a booth with a window view or grab a bar stool at the solid oak bar hand crafted by RJ himself. The bar offers a great view of the quilted stainless steel walls that seem to be the finishing touch on the already delightful decor.

When he purchased the property, RJ's intent was to build a Laundromat (he's also a building contractor.) Once the walls were up, he hung a photo of Elvis Presley on one of those bare walls, and the inspiration hit him. "I put him up, and then I got a feeling. Something hit me it had to be a restaurant, " said RJ who then sketched out the floor plan for what would eventually become Talk of the Town Pizza Bar. "I was inspried by The King." Elvis hasn't moved since.
